Notably, late Ajit Pawar’s political advisor Naresh Arora has met Sunetra Pawar, and discussed the matter. It has come to light that she has agreed to be the Deputy CM. Ajit Pawar, a popular name in Maharashtra politics, was recently killed in a plane crash while it was trying to land at the Baramati Airport.

In a major development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez on Friday over the phone. The leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties between India and Venezuela. Notably, the South American country is going through a tumultuous period after the US forces captured and extradited Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Notably, this is the first time PM Modi has spoken with Rodríguez after Maduro's capture.

PM Narendra Modi announced on Friday an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those killed in the warehouse fire in West Bengal's Anandapur. Also, the PM announced Rs 50,000 to those injured.
Taking to X, PM Modi said, "The recent fire mishap in Anandapur, West Bengal, is very tragic and saddening. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those injured recover at the earliest." He added, "An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000."
In 2018, the Uttarakhand government passed the Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion Act (UFRA) to stop what it called “forced religious conversions.” The law was later strengthened in 2022 and again in 2025, with stricter punishments and longer jail terms. But nearly seven years later, court records show that the law is struggling to stand in court.
An investigation by The Indian Express, based on records obtained through 30 Right to Information (RTI) applications, reveals that of the 62 cases registered under the Act until September 2025, only five have gone to full trial. Around 22 students were hospitalised after consuming mid-day meals at a primary school in Sangareddy district in Telangana on 29th January, officials said.
According to a police official, the students had eaten sambar and rice in the afternoon and soon began experiencing symptoms such as stomach pain and discomfort. The students were immediately shifted to the nearby hospital for medical attention. Later, the official stated that all 22 students are in stable condition and will be discharged from the hospital, says police.

Uttar Pradesh minister Suresh Kumar Khanna says, "The cabinet has approved the proposal for the rehabilitation of Hindu Bengali families displaced from East Pakistan and Bangladesh... 99 families are currently residing in Nangla Gosai village of Mawana tehsil in Meerut district. Arrangements are being made for their rehabilitation, under which each family will be allotted half an acre of land.
