Clash between two groups leads to FIR naming deceased individuals in Madhya Pradesh
The Madhya Pradesh police have launched an investigation into an incident that occurred on July 17 in Bareth village, Vidisha district of the state. A complaint revealed that two individuals named in the FIR had been dead for nearly a decade. The FIR wrongly accused two dead individuals of being involved in the clash.
New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh police have launched an investigation into an unusual incident that occurred on July 17 in Bareth village, Vidisha district. A complaint revealed that two individuals named in the FIR had allegedly been dead for nearly a decade.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Choubey, the altercation involved members of two communities. Initial reports suggest that one community filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the other following the clash near the jurisdiction of the Basoda city police station.
FIR blamed two dead individuals
Subsequently, the accused party filed a complaint on July 21, stating that the FIR wrongly named two individuals who had passed away around ten years ago. CCTV footage has been submitted to further establish that one of the accused mentioned in the complaint was not even present at the scene of the incident. The complainant also claimed that his location at the time was elsewhere.
"A complaint has been received stating that one of the accused mentioned in the FIR was not present at the incident site. Additionally, two other accused in the same case were already dead," ASP Choubey told ANI, describing the bizarre turn of events. A Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) will probe and collect evidence in the matter.
Impartial investigation ensured
Raj Kumar Sharma, the complainant, told ANI that there was a dispute between two communities which led to a clash. The July 17 confrontation falsely implicated people who were not involved. This is why they approached the Additional Superintendent of Police to submit an application requesting an impartial inquiry, the removal of the names of those falsely accused, and further appropriate action.
Sharma further stated, as quoted by ANI, that the officer assured them of an impartial investigation and that due action would be taken against those involved in the conflict.
