Ramnagar: Corbett Tiger Reserve administration has announced a strong move to protect tourists from online fraud. In recent years, some fake websites and travel agents posing as the official Corbett portal have defrauded visitors, collecting money without providing legitimate safari services.

Dr. Saket Badola, Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve, said the administration is closely monitoring such websites. “Any website that pretends to be the official Corbett portal will be immediately blocked or deleted, and legal action will be taken against its operators,” he stated. The administration has clarified that tourists must use only the official website, corbettgov.org, for safari bookings and information.

No private agency’s name will be displayed on gypsy

To further prevent fraud, no private agency or website name will be displayed on any gypsy within the park. Only the official Corbett Tiger Reserve portal will be mentioned. This ensures tourists do not get misled and helps maintain transparency.

Dr. Badola warned that bookings through fraudulent websites not only result in financial losses but also put tourists at risk. “We urge visitors to exercise caution and rely on the official government website for all Corbett safari bookings,” he said.

CTR has 8 safari zones

Corbett Tiger Reserve has a total of eight safari zones: Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, Durgadevi, Sonnadi, Garjia, and Pakharo. Among these, the most popular zones are Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, and Durgadevi. Some zones, including Jhirna, Dhela, and Garjia, remain open throughout the year, while others close during the monsoon season.

In October, Jim Corbett National Park reopened its Bijrani zone and Durgadevi zone on the 15th of the month. The Dhikala zone, known for its rich biodiversity and tiger sightings, will reopen on 15 November this year.

Park offers visitors a chance to experience nature closely

Thousands of wildlife enthusiasts and photographers are expected to visit as the park resumes operations after the monsoon closure. The park offers visitors a chance to experience nature closely, with sightings of tigers, elephants, leopards, deer, and a variety of bird species.

The administration emphasizes that using the official website ensures safe and authentic bookings, timely information on safari availability, and guidance on park rules. It also protects wildlife by preventing illegal or unregistered operators from disturbing the park’s ecosystem.

Corbett Tiger Reserve hopes to keep fraudsters at bay

With the new measures, Corbett Tiger Reserve hopes to make safaris safer and more enjoyable for tourists while keeping fraudsters at bay. Visitors planning a safari this season are strongly advised to book through corbettgov.org and check updates before visiting any zone.
