New Delhi: In his first public speech months after resignation, Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has spoken about the risks of falling into narratives. He said it is not at all easy to get out of the “chakravyuh”.
Dhankhar's resignation came out of the blue and surprised everyone. While stepping down from the post of VP in July this year, he cited health reasons as the motive behind his resignation. Now, during a book launch of senior RSS functionary Manmohan Vaidya in Bhopal on Friday, he gave his first public speech after stepping down from the post of VP.
Dhankhar, during the event, said, “Bhagwan kare ki koi narrative ke chakkar mein na fas jaye, iss chakravyuh mein koi fass gaya toh nikalna bada mushkil hain” (God willing, no one gets into the problem concerning narratives. If one gets into this trap, it is difficult to come out). However, he said that he is not giving any examples.
He added in a cryptic manner, “I can't skip my duty for catching a flight, and friends, my recent past is proof of it.” According to a report by news agency PTI, he was reminded during the speech that he had to catch a flight back to Delhi at 7.30 pm.
Dhankhar, in his resignation, thanked President Droupadi Murmu for her "unwavering support" and the "wonderfully harmonious working relationship" they had through his term. Also, he thanked PM Modi, saying, "Prime Minister's cooperation and support have been invaluable, and I have learned much during my time in office."
