New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit in Rajkot, Gujarat, on Sunday. The summit includes 13 new smart industrial estates spanning over 3,540 acres across Amreli, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Kutch, Morbi, Rajkot, and Surendranagar.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that a quarter of the 21st century has already passed and that India has made rapid progress in recent years, with Gujarat and its people playing a significant role in this journey.
PM Modi said that India is rapidly progressing towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy. Emerging data clearly demonstrates that global expectations from India are constantly rising. He said India is the world’s fastest-growing economy. Over the past two decades, the Vibrant Gujarat Summit has consistently delivered something new and special, and this regional edition of the summit is a reflection of that legacy. The summit, he said, is moving forward with a focus on Gujarat’s regional potential.
PM Modi said that whenever the Vibrant Gujarat Summit is held, he sees more than just an event. He sees the journey of modern India in the 21st century — a journey that began with a dream and has now reached unshakable confidence.
He said that over the last two decades, Vibrant Gujarat has become a global benchmark. The summit has held 10 editions so far, and with each edition, its identity and role have grown stronger. “I have been associated with the Vibrant Gujarat Summit since day one. In the early days, our goal was to make the world aware of Gujarat’s potential, attract investments, and benefit India. Today, the summit has gone beyond investment and has become a strong platform for global growth, international corporations, and partnerships,” PM Modi said.
Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “This is my first visit to Gujarat since the beginning of 2026 and it is especially rewarding because my journey this year began with a bow at the feet of Somnath Dada. Now, I am participating in this magnificent event in Rajkot. The mantra of ‘development as well as heritage’ is resonating across the world.”
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi were also present at the summit.
More than 110 international buyers from 16 countries, including the US and European nations, are participating in the summit. Over 1,500 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed. More than 1,800 business meetings are scheduled during the summit’s Reverse Buyer-Seller Meeting (RBSM).
Typically, sellers set up stalls and buyers visit them. However, under the RBSM format, buyers remain stationed at one place while sellers approach them to showcase their products.
