New Delhi: In a shocking incident reported from Haryana's Gurugram, a woman was allegedly shot at and injured in a club. The 25-year-old had reportedly refused a marriage proposal from a man, which led to the shooting, said police. The woman was critically injured in the incident.
The police said that the incident was reported from MG Road in the early hours of December 20. When the police reached the club, they got to know that the woman had already been moved to a hospital. She was found admitted to a private hospital in the city and was initially not in a condition to give a statement.
The police identified the woman as Kalpna, who worked at a club in Gurugram. A complaint was registered by her husband who is a resident of Delhi. He alleged in his complaint to the police, that his wife was shot at by a man named Tushar, who is a resident of Sangam Vihar.
The man reportedly told the police that Tushar visited them about a month back at their home. He had a fight with the couple over some issue and then left the house in a huff. The man said that on the intervening night of December 19-20, 2025 at around 1 am, his wife called and told him that she had been shot.
The Sector 29 police station registered an FIR in the matter, based on the complaint of the woman's husband. As investigations started, the police managed to arrest Tushar alias Jonty (25) and his friend Shubham alias Jony (24), from Uttar Pradesh's Baraut.
During questioning, the accused Tushar, told police that he had befriended Kalpna around 6 months back and wanted to marry her. The woman however refused his proposals repeatedly, telling him that she was already married.
According to the police, on the night of December 19, Tushar along with Subham went to the club in Gurugram, where Kalpna was employed and once again proposed to her. When she refused, an angry Tushar pulled out a gun and fired at her, leaving her severely injured.
The police are still questioning the accused and said that further probe is on the matter. They will also question the injured woman, once she recovers and is fit to give her statement.
