'Will take action against you': Ajit Pawar's threat call to woman IPS officer goes viral

New Delhi: A phone call between Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and the Deputy SP of Madha Taluka is going viral on social media. In the video, Pawar can be heard asking the police officer to immediately get the gravel excavation process stopped.

Pawar then goes on to threaten the woman IPS officer with action if she fails to follow his orders. The incident reportedly took place on September 1.

The lady officer who was threatened by the Deputy CM of Maharashtra has been identified as Anjana Krishna. She is the Tehsil Officer and Deputy SP of Madha. She had reportedly received a complaint regarding illegal excavation of gravel for construction of a village road in Kurdu village of Madha taluka. Following the complaint, Krishnan along with the police force, reached the spot to take action.

But to stop the action, one of the NCP workers, identified as Baba Jagtap called up the Deputy CM and asked him to talk to the Deputy SP. Ajit Pawar then talked to Krishnan and can be heard instructing her to stop the action.

During the call, Pawar introduced himself to the officer. He then asked her to stop the action immediately and leave the place. He then instructed her to tell her senior officer, Dr Shejar that the situation in Mumbai was bad and priority should be given there. He then says, "I order you, stop this action."

Responding to the Deputy CM, Anjana Krishnan says, "How would I know that you are the Deputy CM of Maharashtra. Please call me on my mobile phone."

Responding to her, Pawar said, "If you are asking me to call, I will take action against you."

The officer tells him that she understands what he is trying to tell her and shares her mobile number with him. Pawar says, I am giving you a video call, I hope you recognise my face. He threatens her again, saying, "You have become very daring."

The Minister then reportedly makes a video call to her and asks her to stop the action. Meanwhile the NCP workers and villagers resorted to harassing the woman officer and other officials present there. They used abuses against the officials.
