In UP, two men kill neighbouring woman and bury her for making their wives leave them
In a shocking Jewar incident, two men murdered their female neighbour, Ranjana, believing she 'poisoned' their wives' minds, leading them to leave. Rakesh and Bunty strangled her, initially staging it as suicide before burying the body.
New Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh's Jewar, a shocking incident has come to light in which two men have reportedly killed a neighbouring woman for allegedly poisoning the minds of their wives to leave them.
The incident came to light on the night of November 19, when a local resident thought that a body was possibly hidden inside a dilapidated house in Jahangirpur’s Mohalla Kumharan. The Jewar police reached the spot after receiving a call, and found the body of the woman in a shallow pit covered with soil.
Who is the woman in question?
The victim has been identified as Ranjana, the wife of Mahesh. She was often seen chatting with the spouses of two men who lived in the same locality: Rakesh and Bunty.
The police have arrested both men, and it has been allegedly revealed that the accused killed Ranjana as they believed she was the reason behind their wives leaving them. The three families had lived in the same neighbourhood for years, and the three wives were close friends. Rakesh and Bunty had even visited Ranjana’s home with their spouses.
How did the resentment take place?
However, after their spouses left them, the husbands formed a resentment against Ranjana. Rakesh's wife eloped with another man four to five years ago, while Bunty's wife shifted to Delhi about six months ago. Notably, both did so after repeated disputes with their husbands. Both men believed that Ranjana had manipulated their wives into leaving and "poisoned their minds”.
How did the murder happen?
Police have said that Bunty and Rakesh had plotted the murder for days and strangled Ranjana inside her house on November 18. They used her shawl to hang her from the ceiling fan to make it look like a suicide case.
The next day, they moved the body elsewhere by digging a pit in a dilapidated house nearby. They took Ranjana’s body later that night and buried it in the pit. However, the body was found quickly, and they were detained within hours of the discovery. The police also recovered a shovel, a towel, and the shawl used in the commission of the crime.
