India wont tolerate nuclear threats anymore: PM Modis stern message to Pak on Independence Day
The Prime Minister further said that the country salute the brave soldiers who punished masters of terror beyond their imagination during Operation Sindoor.
New Delhi: In a stern warning to Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India will not tolerate nuclear threats anymore. He made the remarks while addressing the nation from the historic Red Fort on the 79th Independence Day. PM Modi's warning comes against the backdrop of Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir's recent nuclear threats. Munir recently said that Pakistan is a nuclear nation and if it faced an existential crisis during any future conflict with India, it will take down "half the world".
During his speech, Prime Minister Modi also invoked Operation Sindoor -- India's retaliatory military action against Pakistan-based terror camps post Pahalgam terror attack -- and said that destruction inflicted by Indian armed forces in Pakistan was so massive that new details of damages suffered by the neighbouring country are emerging every day.
"India has decided that it will not tolerate nuclear threats anymore, we won't fall for any blackmail. Destruction inflicted by our armed forces in Pakistan was so widespread, new revelations being made every day. Pakistan has lost its sleep after Operation Sindoor," PM Modi said.
'Brave soldiers punished masters of terror'
The Prime Minister said after the April 22 Pahalgam attack which claimed lives of 26 innocent people, the government gave armed forces free hand to respond to terrorists. He further said that the country salute the brave soldiers who punished "masters of terror beyond their imagination" during Operation Sindoor. "What the Indian armed forces have done during Operation Sindoor was not seen in many many years. We have set a new normal in dealing with cross-border terrorism," he added. PM Modi further said that the military will decide the time and give fitting response to all acts of terror.
Heaping praises on India-made weapons that were used during Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said that the military action would not have been successful, if India was not "Atmanirbhar" "Our enemies had no idea about the capability of ‘Made in India’, which weapons are simple and which are powerful enough to destroy them in a moment. Just think, if we were not self-reliant, would we have been able to carry out Operation Sindoor with such speed?”
'India's water used to irrigate enemies' soil'
Prime Minister Modi also hit back at Pakistan for its war rehetoric over India's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty. The Indus Waters Treaty between India and Pakistan was put in abeyance following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. "Water and blood cannot flow together", the Prime Minister reiterated today, as he refused to share the water that belong to India with Pakistan.
"India's water used to irrigate enemies' soil while my land remained thirsty. Now, India and its farmers will have rights to the water that belongs to it. For the welfare of the farmers and the nation, we don't agree to the Indus Waters Treaty," PM Modi said.
