Jammu and Kashmir: Army foils infiltration bid in Kupwara, 2 terrorists killed

Security forces gunned down 2 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara on Saturday. The terrorists were spotted by the security agencies, during a search operation launched after they received inputs about presence of terrorists in Keran sector. The Army confirmed killing of 2 terrorists and said that they were still carrying out searches in the area.

New Delhi: The security forces managed to foil an infiltration attempt in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara on Saturday. The joint operation carried out by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police happened in the Keran sector. The security forces gunned down 2 terrorists in the encounter.

The action was taken under Army's ongoing Operation Pimple. Talking about this particular encounter. The Army's White Chinar Corps, in a social media post on X, said "On 07 Nov 2025, based on specific intelligence input from agencies, regarding an infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched in the Keran sector of Kupwara. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. Contact established and terrorists trapped."

They also informed that the operation was still ongoing.

Chinar Corps also confirmed that 2 terrorists had been neutralised/killed by the security forces. They are now carrying out a search operation in the area, it added.

This is the second encounter in Jammu and Kashmir in 4 days. Earlier on November 5, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the general area of Chhatru in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar.

This operation also began after the Jammu and Kashmir Police, assisted by the Army, began a search operation in the area to filter out terrorists. They had specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Chhatru area.

The security operation started early morning and soon after terrorists fired upon the search party, said the Army. There was an exchange of fire between the forces and terrorists, said the White Knight Corps, talking about Operation Chhatru.
