Kerala local body polls: Congress-led UDF leading in panchayats, municipality and corporations
The Congress-led UDF widens margin in ward wins LDF loses steam. It has also surged ahead in the overall leads tally with leads in 503 local bodies at 10:49 AM. The LDF, on the other hand, had an overall lead of 472. The NDA was far behind with leads in only 35 wards.
Thiruvananthapuram: The Local body polls latest results indicate that the Congress-led UDF is leading for the first time in the past 10 years. The LDF is rallying behind the UDF by a margin of 25 seats. However the NDA is far behind in Grama Panchayat, Block Panchayats and district Panchayats. However, NDA is leading in the prestigious Thiruvananthapuram corporation.

In the three-tier panchayats it is neck and neck between the LDF and the UDF . The BJP-led NDA is way behind in grama panchayats: UDF leading in 350 and and LDF in 360 and the BJP in 31.
The Congress-led UDF has a big lead in the cities and towns. In the three tier panchayats, it is neck and neck between the UDF and the Left in all the tiers. The NDA is far behind, except for its lead in the capital Thiruvananthapuram corporation.
The Congress-led UDF is now leading in four of the six corporations. The LDF is leading in only one. In capital Thiruvananthapuram, the NDA is now leading, though the fight with the LDF is close.
Municipalities: The LDF leads in 48 of the 87 seats. LDF in 30, and the BJP-led NDA in 1
The Congress-led UDF is leading in three of the six municipal corporations. The United Democratic Front is leading in Kochi, Thrissur and Kannur. The CPI (M) led Left Democratic Front is leading in Kollam and Kozhikode. In Thiruvananthapuram corporation, there is a neck and neck fight between the NDA and the LDF.
The UDF till 9: 50 AM had won 174 gram panchayat wards, 410 municipality wards and 5 corporation wards. The LDF, despite having a better lead had fewer wards in its kitty (136 GP, 290 M, 2 MC wards). The NDA had won a total of 133 wards by that time.
