Meerut murder again: Wife, lover chop her husband to pieces as daughter blames mother for crime

New Delhi: In India, an object as simple as a blue drum has become synonymous with an untoward incident, with murder in Meerut of former Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, still fresh in our memories.

In Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district, there is a place called Chandausi where the 'blue drum murder' has surfaced once again. There, a woman has allegedly killed her husband along with her lover, chopped his body into several pieces, which were then dumped at multiple places.

On December 15, a man's severed body parts were found packed in polythene bags near the Idgah on Patraua Road in Chandausi. According to the police, the perpetrators brutally hacked the body to pieces, with the head, hands, and legs chopped off.

As per reports, the police said, "Initial identification proved difficult as the head was missing. However, police got a crucial lead when they noticed the name "Rahul” engraved on one of the severed arms. Further investigation confirmed the deceased as Rahul (40), a shoe trader and resident of Chunni locality in Chandausi."

While conducting the probe, police found that Ruby, the wife of the deceased, had lodged a missing persons complaint on November 18 for Rahul. She gave contradictory statements during questioning, which gave the police whiff of what happened, which they later found out with the help of surveillance and technical evidence. After that, the police detained Ruby, her lover, Gaurav, and one more person for questioning.

Rahul and Ruby were married for 15 years and had a 12-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter. The girl allegedly told police about fights between her parents and the frequent visits of three people to their house. She has allegedly urged police to "hang everyone responsible” and blamed her mother. The police have allegedly recovered key evidence from Rahul’s house and are searching for other body parts.
