New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday wished Rashtriya Swayamsevak (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat on his birthday. Taking to social media platform, 'X', PM Modi posted, "Inspired by the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Shri Mohan Bhagwat Ji has dedicated his entire life to societal transformation and strengthening the spirit of harmony and fraternity." He then went on to wish the leader on his 75th birthday and talked about a newspaper article he wrote on the occasion.
Praying for the long life of Bhagwat, PM Modi said, "On the special occasion of his 75th birthday, penned a few thoughts on Mohan Ji and his inspiring personality. Praying for his long and healthy life in service of Maa Bharti."
In the newspaper article for Times of India, PM Modi not only wished Bhagwat on his birthday but also recalled that September 11 marked 2 other prominent events in history. The first being the address of Swami Vievekanand in Chicago in 1893 and the other being the 9/11 attacks which rocked America. PM Modi recalled that during his address in Chicago Swami Vivekanand introduced the timeless spiritual heritage ofIndia and emphasised on universal brotherhood.
Talking about Bhagwat, PM Modi said that the day also marks the birthday of a personality who, inspired by the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, has dedicated his entire life to societal transformation and strengthening the spirit of harmony and fraternity. He said that for lakhs of RSS workers, he is the Param Pujya Sarsanghchalak.
The PM reminded that it is a co-incident that Bhagwat's 75th birthday is falling in the same year that RSS is celebrating its 100 years. The PM prayed for the long life of the RSS chief.
The PM then recalled that he also had the opportunity of working with Bhagwat Ji's father, the late Madhukarrao Bhagwat. He recalled that even the current RSS chief's father dedicated himself to nation building and credited him for grooming his son, Mohanrao (Mohan Bhagwat) to work towards India's regeneration.
The PM then talked about 2 attributes which Mohan Bhagwat had imbibed in his work style. These were continuity and adaptation, said the PM. He credited the RSS chief with steering the organisation through complex currents and never compromising on the core ideology and yet addressing the evolving needs of society.
The PM concluded that Mohan Bhagwat's term as RSS head will be considered as the most transformative period in the 100-year history of the organisation.
