New Delhi: In a shocking incident reported from Maharashtra's Nanded a day back, a 21-year-old woman married a dead body. The visuals of this unique 'wedding' had gone viral on social media. According to reports, the woman's family killed her boyfriend, Saksham because he was from a different caste and they did not want her to get married to him.
The girl, Anchal Mamidwar has accused her family of betraying her. She also named 2 police personnel and accused them of provoking her family to kill Saksham.
The woman was quoted by NDTV as saying, "We were together for 3 years. My family, including my brothers, had assured me that they would help us get married and organise a wedding soon. However, they betrayed us at the last moment."
The woman claimed that she met Saksham on Instagram. Slowly her friendship with him grew into love. The woman claimed that even her brothers used to hang out with Saksham. She said, "They used to eat together and be very friendly and nice to him. We had no idea that something like this could happen."

A video showing the woman's brothers and father dancing with Saksham is also going viral on social media. It seems to suggest that the family had accepted the relationship of the young couple. However things did not turn out the way they had imagined.
Anchal said that her family had reacted positively to Saksham's caste. The girl belongs to the Special Backward Class, and according to her narration, her family described Saksham as a 'Jai Bhimwala'. This term is used by Dalits to greet each other.

She said that one day her father told Saksham that if he wanted to marry his daughter, he would have to convert to their religion. According to the woman, her boyfriend willingly agreed. She claimed that he was ready to do everything for her, but her family cheated upon the couple.
According to Aanchal, on the day Saksham was killed, her younger brother took her to the police station. She was asked to file a false complaint against Saksham, but she refused. The woman blamed 2 cops at the police station - Dheeraj Komalwar and Maheet Asarwar—of provoking her brother.
The cops reportedly told the young man, "You keep coming here after killing people. Why don't you kill the man your sister is involved with?" In response, Aanchal's brother, who has a criminal record said, "Ok! I will kill him by evening today and come to you."
"How can people trust cops?", cried the young woman.
Saksham also had a criminal record.
On Thursday evening, Saksham was with his friends, when Aanchal's brother Himesh Mamidwar, started fighting with him. He took out a revolver and shot the man. The bullet hit his ribs. Mamidwar however did not stop there. After injuring Saksham, he picked up a tiles and smashed it on the injured man's head.
The police have arrested Himesh, his brother Sahil, their father Gajanan Mamidwar, and three others in the case. All of them have been charged with murder, unlawful assembly, and rioting under BNS and sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Arms Act.
