New Delhi: The News9 Global Summit, Germany edition is being held on Thursday, October 9, 2025. It is being organised at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart, and is being seen as a significant milestone in the evolving relationship between India and Germany. The anniversary coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Indo-German strategic partnership.
The Summit's theme this time is 'Democracy, Demography, Development - The India–Germany Connect' and is being held with an aim to deepen bilateral ties between India and Germany. The Summit aims to develop relations between India and Germany across the strategic, economic, and cultural spheres.
The focus of the event will be on defence collaboration, technology transfer, climate solutions and mobility of talent. Not only that it will also aim to develop partnership between 2 of the most developed democracies of the world. As Europe is now looking to recalibrate its security and industrail priorities, in the wake of the geopolitical situation, including the Ukraine Russia war, India is fast becoming its natural partner. This is because India helps build resilient supply chains, co-develops technologies for the future and is also shaping new global governance frameworks.
The MD and CEO of TV9 Network, Barun Das will give the opening address at the Summit in Germany. In 2024, talking about the aims of the Summit, Das had said that "aims to deepen bilateral relations between India and Germany, bringing together stakeholders from diverse fields to develop actionable solutions for mutual growth.As Europe’s largest economy, Germany is a key partner for India, and this summit marks the first such initiative by an Indian news media organisation."
The next session is named Baden-Württemberg - Maharashtra. This session will see speeches from Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Winfried Kretschmann, the Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg. Smart infrastructure and climate-resilient development will be the theme of this session.
Maroš Šefčovič, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security will be parts of the third session of the day. His keynote address will highlight market access, regulatory harmonisation, duties, rules of origin, and environmental & labour standards.
This Summit is not just symbolic, but serves as a platform for real dialogue, investment opportunity, and long-term cooperation between the 2 countries.
