'No place is perfect': US woman details pros and cons of life in India

New Delhi: An Indian woman, who moved to India with her family, listed the challenges of their life in India. In the video, now going viral, the woman explained the positives and negatives of living in India. Her thoughts sparked a discussion on social media. 

Kristen Fischer, who documents her life in India on social media, opened up about the advantages and disadvantages of relocating to the country. In the video, she claimed that neither India nor the US was perfect. In the post titled "As a foreigner living in India, I am not ashamed to admit that no place is perfect", the young woman wrote, "I love India, but it is by no means perfect. It certainly has flaws and aspects I don’t like. I love the USA, but it has a lot of problems and is not the perfect picture everyone thinks it is.”

Further, the woman went on to say that every individual has the power to create their happiness, no matter where they are. "Will you choose to focus on the negative, or will you choose to see the positive? I believe that this outlook significantly affects our joy and satisfaction in life. Choose to focus on the good today. Choose happiness," said Fischer. 

The woman admitted that she missed her family back home. However, she added that India made her feel at home and stated that she preferred Indian food. "India has better hospitality and is a better place for kids. Local farming is better, and the food is healthier here,” said the American woman. 

Meanwhile, she also listed her challenges.  “I hate the pollution in Delhi, and I hate the garbage on the streets,” said the woman. She concluded, "India is a more modest country. I don’t think India is perfect. We must find our own happiness." 

Netizens were quick to comment on the clip. One stated, "Such an inspiring post. I have been focusing on the negative for quite some time now. But this post of yours and your writing motivated me to look into the positive." A second person stated, "I admire your honesty & you are absolutely correct! No place is perfect. If we can adjust comfortably, that's enough."
