Not given food, still in trauma’: Indian Vlogger narrates ordeal after detention in China
The vlogger added that he was quite disturbed after learning of an Arunachal citizen being detained in China. It was after this that the vlogger decided to make a video to express his concern.
New Delhi: Indian travel vlogger Anant Mittal, known online as On Road Indian, was recently detained in China for nearly 15 hours, which has left him scared and exhausted. During the detention, Mittal was reportedly not given any food to eat. He as given water to drink after a persistent request.
The incident took place last month
The entire incident reportedly took place on November 16. Mittal was finally let go after Chinese officials questioned him at length. Taking to one of his YouTube channels, Mittal said that his work was driven by his passion for travel and storytelling and he did not have any political affiliation.
Mittal further noted that through his vlogs, he wanted to showcase and did not want to promote any kind of political agenda. He further said that he studied in north east part of the country for three years and felt very deeply connected to the region.

Pointing out that the video might have contributed Mittal reiterated the message of peace, harmony, and cultural exchange through travel. The latest incident came to light close to a month after an Indian national from Arunachal Pradesh, presently living in the UK, was detained in Shanghai for sometime, when she was looking to board a flight to Japan.
Sharing details later, Prerna had said that she was singled out later due to her Indian passport. She added that detention was invalid as it was on grounds that the state was part of China.
