New Delhi: The prime accused in the shocking daylight murder of Chandan Mishra at Paras Hospital in Patna, Tauseef Badshah, is among those arrested for the killing from Kolkata. The Patna Police, along with a team of Kolkata cops and the STF of both the states, conducted multiple raids across West Bengal and nabbed the prime accused in the case.
The police team not only arrested Badshah but also several of his associates. Among those arrested was Nishu Khan, a cousin of Badshah. He allegedly provided logistical support to the shooters, giving them shelter at his house in Patna.
Apart from this, a woman named Alpna Das has also been arrested. The police operation was carried out at a guest house in Kolkata. The Patna Police, along with their Kolkata counterparts and aided by the STF carried out multiple raids at different locations in Kolkata. The woman and 4 other people were detained from the guest house located in Anandapur area of the city, reported PTI.
Evidence suggests that the conspiracy to kill Mishra was hatched at the residence of Nishu Khan in Patna's Samanpura. He is partially paralysed but still managed to flee the state capital, said officials.
All the shooters have been identified by the police. The CCTV camera in the hospital had captured them while entering and exiting the ICU, where Mishra was being treated. The police said that the suspects fled Bihar after killing Mishra on July 11.
The criminals arrested in the case include, Tauseef Badshah who was the main shooter and prime conspirator of the murder, Nishu Khan, cousin of Tauseef who reportedly provided shelter and logistical support, Sachin Singh, allegedly helped coordinate the escape, Harsh alias Harish Kumar, said to have conducted surveillance and accompanied the shooter two days before the incident, Bhim Kumar, whose role currently under investigation and Alpana Das, the only woman arrested in the case. The Police are yet to ascertain the role of Das in the entire case.
Police are looking for 2 more suspects in the case and have not revealed their identities so far, reported NDTV.
Apart from Tauseef, the 4 other suspects who entered the hospital to kill Mishra is believed to include Monu, Balwant, Abhishek, and Nilesh. All of them have yet not been arrested by the police, it is believed and efforts are on to nab them.
