PM Modi likely to shift to new office near Raisina Hill after January 14
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to relocate to his new office, 'Seva Teerth,' near Raisina Hill after January 14. This modern PMO complex is a key component of the Central Vista redevelopment project, which also includes a new Parliament and future PM residence. The new facility houses the PMO, Cabinet Secretariat, and National Security Council.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to shift to his new office near Raisina Hill after January 14, Indian Express has reported. He is going to work from his new office as the construction work gets completed soon. The new office was built as part of government’s plan to redevelop the Central Vista area.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has been located in the South Block since Independence.
A new residence for the Prime Minister is also under construction near the new office complex. He will move from his current residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, once the new home is complete.
What the new office complex houses
During the construction phase, the complex was called Executive Enclave. However, the premises has been renamed by the government as Seva Teerth, meaning a place of service. The premises houses three buildings. Seva Teerth 1 has the Prime Minister's Office, Seva Teerth 2 houses the cabinet secretariat, and Seva Teerth 3 has the National Security Council secretariat and the office of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Announced in 2019, the Central Vista redevelopment project comprises constructing a new Parliament building, which was completed in 2023; the Vice President’s Enclave, which was completed in 2024; and 10 new Common Central Secretariat buildings, of which the first three were completed and named Kartavya Bhavan in 2025.
How will the new offices look like
Sources cited by the Indian Express said that most offices in the new PMO building will be like modern workspaces in the recently completed secretariat buildings, Kartavya Bhavan, under the Central Vista plan, in terms of the finishing. The Prime Minister’s office and rooms for ceremonial purposes during high-level visits will have a grander look, suited to their use. The complex was built by Larsen & Toubro for the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), which had awarded the contract in 2022.
An NDTV report stated that Seva Teerth includes high-end rooms for meeting dignitaries. These rooms are not just technologically equipped but also showcase India’s culture and traditions. A new hall has been specially designed for cabinet meetings. The PMO now follows an open-floor layout, which is aimed at encouraging a change in work culture and making it more collaborative.
