New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major National Highway projects in Delhi on Sunday, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity across the Delhi-NCR region. Together worth nearly ₹11,000 crore, the projects will be launched at around 12:30 p.m. in Rohini, after which the prime minister will address a public gathering.

The first project is the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway, spanning 10.1 km and built at a cost of around Rs 5,360 crore. Of the total length, 5.9 km runs from Shiv Murti intersection to Dwarka Sector-21, while the remaining 4.2 km links Dwarka Sector-21 to the Delhi-Haryana border. In March 2024, PM Modi inaugurated the 19 km Haryana section of the expressway.

The second project is the Alipur–Dichaon Kalan stretch of the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), along with new links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat. Built at an estimated cost of Rs 5,580 crore, this road is part of the government’s broader plan to decongest the capital, reduce travel time, and enhance regional connectivity. Both projects are expected to greatly cut traffic load on key routes, provide faster travel options, and improve access between Delhi and its neighbouring cities.
