He blamed both the parties for accelerating the migration in the state. The PM said that the "real beginning of the migration crisis" in the state happened when its education system started to decline.
The PM was speaking at the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh organised at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Millions of children were forced to leave Bihar: PM Modi
Talking about the degradation of education in Bihar under the previous government of RJD and Congress, PM Modi said, "This generation may not realise how devastated the education system in Bihar was two and a half decades ago. Schools were not open, nor were recruitments conducted. Which parent doesn’t want their child to study and progress here? But out of compulsion, millions of children were forced to leave Bihar and go to Varanasi, Delhi, and Mumbai. This was the real beginning of the migration."
The PM further said that the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ensured that opportunities were created in the state. Praising the CM he said that Bihar's resurgence is the result of Nitish Kumar's efforts.
He said that Bihar's public was fortunate to have Nitish Kumar at the helm. He said that the CM along with his team worked to bring back Bihar on track and worked to amend the deteriorating system in the state.
The PM launched schemes worth Rs 62,000 crore which included the Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University in Bihar. The PM said, "I am happy that Bihar has received a new Skill University at today’s Skill Convocation. Nitish Kumar’s government has named this university after Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur."
The PM said that the Nitish Kumar government had raised the spend on education in the state in its Budget, as compared to the RJD-Congress regime and had also generated 10 lakh permanent government jobs.
