Pune: Sacked IAS Puja Khedkar, family allegedly tied up, robbed
Former IAS probationer, Puja Khedkar alleged that she and her family were robbed by a recently hired house help. The incident took place at their Baner house in Pune. She said that her family was rendered unconscious by the man and then tied up. The accused then made off with their phones and some valuables. Khedkar approached the police and an investigation has been launched.
New Delhi: Former IAS probationer, Puja Khedkar said that a domestic help allegedly robbed her and her family after sedating them. She reportedly contacted the police on late Saturday night to report the robbery at the family bungalow on Baner Road in Pune.
How the robbery happened
According to a report in the Times of India, Khedkar in her complaint to the police said that a househelp they had recently hired and who hailed from Nepal, mixed something in either their food or drink on Saturday. After consuming the food, the whole family, including Khedkar and her parents - Dilip and Manorma Khedkar lost consciousness.
The family was also tied up by the accused, according to the complaint filed by Puja Khedkar. The accused then reportedly made off with their mobile phones and some valuables. The full details about what all the family lost in the robbery is not clear as they have not lodged a formal complaint with the police. Despite a formal complaint not being lodged, officials said that an investigation has been launched.
Khedkar said that she contacted the police with a spare mobile phone in the house after freeing herself.
Khedkar family's past
Former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar first made it to news headlines, after she was first suspended and later dismissed from service, for allegedly forging certificates, to claim reservation benefits. She had cleared the 2022 UPSC examinations, but lost her job due to the fraud. She has however denied all allegations against her.
The Khedkar family was again in news last year, after the police registered a kidnapping case against her parents, Manorma and Dilip Khedkar. They were accused of abducting a truck driver after a road rage incident in Navi Mumbai.
