Patna: A clash broke out on Thursday in Bihar Assembly between ruling party and opposition MLAs over the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Heated arguments turned into a physical scuffle during the discussion. Marshals had to intervene to control both sides. Even after the proceedings were over, the confrontation between MLAs continued inside the House.
During the ruckus, BJP MLA Sanjay Kumar broke the microphone in anger. Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the BJP MLA used abusive language. He claimed that the MLA not only insulted him but also abused his parents and sister.
Tejashwi said, “We were continuously being interrupted while speaking. Despite the abuses directed at me and my family, I stayed calm. But when they abused my mother and sister, I had to raise my voice. I have asked the Speaker to review the video footage. Even the Deputy Chief Minister abused us yesterday, and today his supporters continued it. We were only raising public issues, but BJP leaders don’t have the courage to hear the truth.”
Meanwhile, Tejashwi's elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav said, “The way Samrat Chaudhary insulted our father, if we were inside the House, we would have responded strongly. Samrat Chaudhary has a criminal background, and his respect has declined. They are protesting wearing black clothes because their voices are not being heard by the government.”
On Tuesday, the second day of the session, opposition MLAs stormed into the well of the House and shouted slogans. They started protesting as soon as the Assembly began, creating chaos during both sessions of the day.
