Sonia Gandhi's asthma aggravated due to pollution
According to Dr Ajay Swaroop, chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Gandhi was experiencing breathing difficulty. During the examination, the doctors found that her bronchial asthma had mildly worsened. The asthma was aggravated due to the cold weather and pollution.
"She has been kept under observation at the hospital as a precautionary measure. Currently, her condition is completely stable. The treatment is showing good results. She is being given antibiotics and supportive medications," Swaroop said.
According to the doctors, she may be discharged in a day or two. The doctors say that the decision regarding her discharge will be made based on the improvement in her health.
Toxic air grips Delhi
Delhi has been grappling with a prolonged pollution spell, causing breathing discomfort to elderly people. Earlier, Union minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari had said that he develops allergies if he stays in Delhi for three days.
