New Delhi: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score is accepted by various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to recruit Executive Trainee and Engineer Trainee. PSUs offer job opportunities through GATE to those who have completed postgraduate studies and have qualified for the GATE exam. Along with the GATE score the selection process involves entrance assessments, group discussions and interviews.
Some PSUs require candidates to qualify for GATE with a discipline-wise cutoff set by the particular organisation. While a few PSUs accept only the current year’s GATE score and others may also consider previous year scores. In some cases, recruitment is done directly on the basis of GATE scores, whereas others shortlist candidates for further stages such as interviews, tests or group discussions.
PSU Recruitment through GATE 2025: Eligibility requirements
Along with the GATE score, PSU also have certain other requirements to select candidates. The eligibility criteria need to be checked thoroughly before applying for a PSU. Other requirements such as age limit, pass percentage of CGPA obtained during graduation and others will also be taken into consideration.
- Candidates must have passed the GATE 2025 exam with a competitive score.
- The general category candidates need to be between 21 to 27 years of age, while the age of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category candidates needs to be 21 to 30 years. Candidates also need to note that the age criteria differ between different PSUs.
- Candidates must also have a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent.
- Those who are in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.
