Swami Rambhadracharya calls western Uttar Pradesh mini Pakistan, video goes viral
Speaking at Bhamashah Park, where his discourse has been underway since September 8, Rambhadracharya claimed Hindus were in crisis and that Hinduism was not receiving justice in its own country.
New Delhi: Jagatguru Swami Rambhadracharya Maharaj, head of Tulsi Peeth, sparked controversy on Thursday by describing western Uttar Pradesh as a "mini Pakistan" during a religious discourse in Meerut. A video of his remarks has since gone viral on social media.
Speaking at Bhamashah Park, where his discourse has been underway since September 8, Rambhadracharya claimed Hindus were in crisis and that Hinduism was not receiving justice in its own country.
He urges Hindus to speak up
"When one comes to western Uttar Pradesh, it feels as if this is a mini Pakistan," he said in the clip.
He urged Hindus to "speak up" and establish schools for imparting religious education in every household. "Every parent must give their children an education in Hinduism. Sanatan Dharma is the only faith that speaks of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family)," he said.
Rambhadracharya added that while Hindus bear no hatred towards anyone, they must be prepared to defend themselves. "We will never provoke anyone, but if provoked, we will never spare anyone," he added.
