Initial police investigations suggest that the attack followed a dispute that arose after Ramashankar fell asleep in an intoxicated state in a house in the same locality. However, the injured worker has alleged that he was attacked and robbed of his salary amounting to ₹10,000. The Mappedu police have taken both complaints into account and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to establish the sequence of events.

Police have arrested two suspects, identified as Lokesh and Rajesh, in connection with the assault. Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine whether the attack was an isolated altercation or part of a broader pattern of violence against migrant laborers in the region.
