Hyderabad: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy directed cabinet ministers and officials to meet people in Jubilee Hills constituency on a regular basis to seek information about issues facing them and resolve their grievances ahead of the by-election.

He also met senior Congress leaders and asked them to intensify party activities in the constituency and said that a separate team must be formed to monitor the situation on a daily basis. He stated that winning the Jubilee Hills bypoll is a priority for the party and that the selection of the candidate will lie with the AICC.

“We must make sure that welfare schemes and development work are effectively publicized at the field level. People must be assured that the government is committed to solving their problems,” he said.

Face-to-face interactions with constituents:

He asked ministers to meet residents face-to-face and hold interactions by dividing the area into blocks within each GHMC ward. Following the meeting, ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Tummala Nageswara Rao held meetings at Engineers Colony and Jayaprakash Colony on Sunday.

Local constituents highlighted several issues, especially related to roads and drainage. They noted that even if a small amount of rain falls, pot holes form quickly, damaging the entire stretch.

In response, the ministers said that foundation stones will be laid for new roads and drainage systems and work would begin soon.

The by-election was necessisated after the demise of MLA Maganti Gopinath in June this year. BRS will likely field Gopinath's wife Maganti Sunitha.
