Stray dog case hearing at SC:
The incident comes at a time when the apex court is hearing a Suo Motu case about dog bite incidents in the country. The Supreme Court has said that people should consider raising children instead of dogs.
Referring to an earlier judgment, a bench of Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and NV Anjaria clarified that they did not order the relocation of all dogs on the streets but only ordered the relocation from institutions and offices.
On Wednesday, the apex court noted the failure of municipal authorities to effectively implement Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules and said that the focus must be on the strict compliance of the ABC Rules. The hearing will continue on Friday.
