Telangana Congress to undertake statewide Padayatra from July 31
The padayatra will begin in Parigi and will end in Wardhannapet in Warangal, covering important constituencies to mobilise grassroots support.
Telangana Congress and its leaders will undertake a statewide padayatra and a sharamdaan program from July 31 to August 6, TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud announced.
The padayatra will begin in Parigi and will end in Wardhannapet in Warangal, covering important constituencies to mobilise grassroots support. The party has decided to strengthen itself at mandal and district levels and it includes the formation of new District Congress Committees (DCCs)and appointment of presidents. The party will also fill nominated posts both in the party and the government.
A meeting was held on Tuesday by AICC state in-charge Meenkashi Natarajan and TPCC chief Mahesh Goud with DCC presidents and in charges of 10 erstwhile districts. Natarajan and Goud accepted proposals to form new DCCs and the names of senior leaders for appointments to the party.
The discussions also focused on appointments to be made to various boards and corporations within the state. District in charges, general secretaries have named two aspirants from each Assembly constituency after multiple rounds of consultations.
The suggested names have reportedly been chosen carefully, including names from SC, ST, BC minority communities and women and over half of the candidate names are said to be under 50 years of age.
Natarajan and Goud are scheduled to meet CM Revanth Reddy on July 31 to take a call on nominated posts in the party and government.
