Hyderabad: The body of young man was taken to the hospital on a lemon pushcart by Telangana police after the ambulance failed to arrive, a viral video that surfaced on social media showed.

The deceased man identified as Mogulayya, 26, was hit by a tipper lorry in Kosgi, Shivaji Chowk, Narayanpet district, when he was riding his two-wheeler towards the bus stand. The incident occurred on Sunday on a busy one-way road. The police said that he was killed on the spot.

The police who arrived at the scene of accident, called an ambulance to shift his body to Kosgi Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. However, the ambulance did not show up even after repeated calls. The police then decided to deploy a push cart to take him to the hospital, which is half a kilometer away.

Locals expressed outrage saying that proper protocols were not followed and the police were not sensitive enough.

Narayanpet SP said that the body was taken to the morgue to avoid ‘chaos’.

“We are investigating the circumstances. Due to heavy market crowd and one-way road, it became difficult for an ambulance to arrive quickly. To prevent further chaos, the body was moved on a pushcart,” he said.
