Hyderabad: Telangana poet who penned the official state song, ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’, passed away at the age of 64 on Sunday, tv9 telugu reported.
The poet, whose given name is Ande Yellana, collapsed at his home in Lalapet and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed profound shock over the sudden demise of the poet. Describing his passing as an irreplaceable loss to the literary world of Telangana, he noted that the song "Jaya Jaya He Telangana," played a pivotal role in the Telangana movement and the formation of the state.
KCR condoles poet's death:
Former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his condolences and said that the death of Andesri, who played a key role as a poet, with his songs and literature, in the cultural movement for the achievement of Telangana statehood, is a loss for Telangana. KCR recalled his association with Andesri during the movement.
BJP leaders Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also conveyed condolences in a post on social media platform X.
CM orders state honours for Andesri:
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to conduct the last rites of the renowned poet with official honours. He has directed the Chief Secretary to issue orders immediately and make appropriate arrangements.
