Two Intelligence officials from Andhra Pradesh were killed in a road accident near Bhaitapuram, Choutuppal mandal of Yadadri Bhuvangiri district of Telangana in the early hours of Saturday morning, July 26.
The two DSPs, Chakradhar Rao and Shanta Rao died on the spot while two others traveling with them were seriously injured. Additional SP Prasad and Driver Narsing Rao have been moved to a private hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment. The driver is said to be in a critical condition.
The accident has occurred when the vehicle in which they were traveling in, a Scorpio, rammed into a lorry at high speed and it may have occurred due to over speeding or fatigue. The DSPs from the Intelligence and Security Wing were traveling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad and were on duty for an undisclosed inquiry.
AP Home Minister V Anitha expressed shock at the demise of the two police officers and her deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. The Home Minister has asked for better medical treatment for the injured.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
