Two people killed, two injured after lorry crashes into tractor after Ganesh immersion
The deceased people were identified as Mandla Shankar, 21, Gupta Sai Teja, 23, while Vishnu and Abdullah were seriously injured.
Two people were killed on the spot and two others were injured after a DCM lorry rammed into a tractor when they were returning from a Ganesh idol immersion event.
According to locals, 11 people from Nachapalli village in Wanaparthy district had gone to immerse Ganesh idol in Krishna river near Bachupalli in Itikyala mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district after midnight on Thursday. The fatal accident occurred when they were going back to their village.
The deceased people were identified as Mandla Shankar, 21, Gupta Sai Teja, 23, while Vishnu and Abdullah were seriously injured. They were taken to Wanaparthy district government hospital. They were later shifted to NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment.
The police said that the DCM lorry belongs to a resident of Kalyanadurgam in Anantapur district. The vehicle driver is absconding.
