Jalgaon: In a tragic incident, two kids ages 6 and 8 respectively, were drawn to death in a drain near their school in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. The children, identified as Ansh Sagar Tahsildar (3) and Mayank Gyaneshwar Wagh (4) were studying in nursery at Adarsh Kanya Vidyalaya English Medium School. The incident resulted in grief and anger in the area.
It is believed that not all children lost their balance and fell directly into the drain, which was flowing near the school’s boundary wall. After the incident, parents and locals have levelled serious allegations against the school administration.
Questions have been raised about how such young kids managed to get out of the classroom and why there was no teacher supervision at the time. The school also needs to answer on why adequate safety arrangements were not in place for children.
According to preliminary information, both children drowned after falling into the drain. After a long search, their bodies were found floating in the drain water. The news of the children's deaths has devastated their families, and anger erupted among the people at the scene.
Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot. They have started a preliminary investigation and have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
