Dehradun: Winter has arrived in Uttarakhand, and the weather is turning cold across the state. On November 10, the Meteorological Department forecast dry weather in all districts, with no chance of rain or snowfall. However, the chill will be felt strongly, especially in the morning and evening hours.
According to meteorologists, cold winds and light fog will affect many areas early in the day. In Dehradun, the minimum temperature is expected to be between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature may reach 15 to 18 degrees Celsius by afternoon. The sun will bring some relief during the day, making it pleasant for outdoor activities.
Cold will get more intense in hilly region
In the mountainous regions like Auli, Munsyari, Kedarnath, and Bageshwar, the cold will be more intense. Minimum temperatures in these areas may drop to 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, and frost could form in some places. Tourists visiting these hill stations should carry warm clothes and take precautions against the cold.
Light fog expected in plains
The plains, including Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, may experience light fog in the morning. The weather will remain dry, and wind speeds will be normal, keeping pollution levels low. The Meteorological Department has issued a fog warning for these districts and advised caution while traveling.
Tourist spots will see clear skies
Tourist destinations like Nainital, Mussoorie, Chakrata, and Rishikesh will enjoy clear skies and mild sunshine during the day. This makes it a good time for sightseeing and outdoor activities. However, temperatures may drop again after sunset, and cold winds will increase the chill.
The meteorological department has confirmed that no rain or snowfall is expected in the next 24 hours. This means the weather will remain stable and dry across Uttarakhand. Still, the cold wave is gradually spreading from the hills to the plains, and people should be prepared.
Tourists are advised to wear warm clothing
Local residents and tourists are advised to wear warm clothing, especially in the early morning and late evening. Children and elderly people should avoid exposure to cold winds. The department also suggests using fog lights while driving in fog-prone areas.
As winter deepens, Uttarakhand is likely to see more cold days ahead, but for now, November 10 promises a clear and pleasant day, perfect for travel and other activities.
