Dehradun: The weather in Uttarakhand has turned colder in both the plains and the mountains. While the plains are seeing light fog, the mountain areas are covered in frost, making life difficult for people and travelers.
According to the Meteorological Center, the weather will remain dry and clear for the next few days. However, the drop in temperature is increasing the chill. In Dehradun, the maximum temperature is expected to be 24°C, and the minimum is around 9°C. Nights are getting colder, and now even the daytime feels chilly.
Frost on the roads create problems for commuters
In the mountain regions, the situation is more serious. Due to the lack of sunlight, frost stays on the roads all day. This frost becomes hard like glass, making roads very slippery. There is a high risk of vehicles slipping, especially in early morning and late evening hours. People living in these areas are being extra careful while walking or driving.
Light fog in the morning
In the plains, light fog is being seen in the mornings. Though it clears up later in the day, it is still causing low visibility for drivers. The fog, combined with the cold air, is making mornings and evenings uncomfortable for many.
The Meteorological Center has said that the minimum temperature may rise slightly by 1 to 2 degrees in the coming days, but the maximum temperature may fall. This means that while nights may get a little better, daytime cold will increase.
People are advised to wear warm clothes
People are advised to wear warm clothes and be careful while traveling, especially in the hills. The frost on roads can be dangerous, and fog in the plains can lead to accidents if drivers are not alert. Farmers in the hills are also worried, as frost can damage crops. They are taking steps to protect their fields, but the cold weather is making it difficult.
The weather in Uttarakhand is expected to stay dry, but the cold will continue to rise. People should stay updated with weather reports and take precautions to stay safe and warm.
