Dehradun: The temp in Uttarakhand hills has started falling once again. For the past few days, the state was witnessing warm days and cold nights. But now, the maximum temperatures have begun to fall, making people feel cold even during the day. Although the weather is dry, the chill is clearly increasing across different regions.

On Monday, people in Dehradun woke up to a cool morning. As the sun rose, it gave some relief, but the warmth did not last long. Throughout the day, a mild cold breeze kept blowing.

Maximum temp falls in hills

The maximum temperature in Dehradun reached only 27.5 degrees Celsius, which was one degree less than the previous day. The minimum temperature rose slightly to 10.2 degrees Celsius, yet mornings and evenings remained chilly. In Udham Singh Nagar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 28.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 8.6 degrees. Despite being warmer than the hilly regions, cold winds made people feel the change in weather here too.

Cold winds continued throughout the day

However, the real bite of winter was felt in the hills. In Mukteshwar, the maximum temperature dropped to 19.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum slipped to 6.1 degrees Celsius. The cold winds continued throughout the day, making people wrap themselves in extra layers of woollen clothes. Uttarakhand will continue to have dry weather for the next few days

According to the Meteorological Center, Uttarakhand will continue to have dry weather for the next few days. There is no forecast of rain, but temperatures will keep shifting in a way that increases the cold. The minimum temperature may rise slightly by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, but the maximum temperature is likely to fall even more. This means the days will feel colder than before.

Frost is expected to form early in the morning and late at night

In the higher regions, frost is expected to form early in the morning and late at night. This frost can make roads slippery and increase the risk for travellers. The plains may experience light fog, especially in the morning hours. Visibility may drop for a short period, so people have been advised to drive carefully.

Residents of Uttarakhand are preparing themselves for the upcoming winter. Markets are slowly getting crowded with people buying warm clothes, blankets, and heaters.
