The Election Commission on Tuesday published the West Bengal draft electoral rolls following a month-long special intensive revision (SIR) exercise. The draft list excluded the names of more than 58 lakh voters on different grounds, including death and migration. Of the 58 lakh names, 12.20 lakh are missing voters, 24.17 lakh are deceased voters, 19.88 lakh are relocated voters, and 1.38 lakh are fake voters, a poll body official told PTI. The SIR for electoral rolls in the state began on November 4.

In Chief Minister's constituency, the names of nearly 45,000 electors were struck off from the draft rolls under the SIR exercise, TMC sources said. The deletions of names have affected several high-profile Assembly constituencies ahead of the 2026 West Bengal polls.
