1. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan on medium flame.
2. Pour milk, crushed saffron strands and cardamom powder and let the milk boil.
3. Mix the milk powder with sugar and cook the blend on low to medium flame while continuously stirring it, until the mixture thickens to form a non-sticky mass.
4. To check the right consistency of the mixture, take a teaspoon of the mass and roll it into a ball, and if the mixture takes the shape of a ball without sticking to your hands, then it’s the perfect consistency.
5. It’s done, and let the mixture cool slightly. While still warm, shape the modaks using a mould or with your hands.
