How to remove nail extensions at home safely
Skip the return trip to the salon and use these easy methods to do nail extension removal at home!
Baking Soda & Toothpaste Scrub: Apply a mix of toothpaste and baking soda, then gently scrub with a toothbrush until your extensions loosen.
Acetone or Perfume Trick: Soak a cotton pad in acetone/perfume and press it on the nail extension for a few minutes to weaken the bond.
Soap and Vinegar Soak: Soak your nails in a mix of equal parts white vinegar and warm soapy water for 15–20 minutes to break down the glue.
Hot Towel Wrap: Soak a towel in hot water and wrap it around your nails for 10–15 minutes to help soften the glue.
Steam Method: Boil water in a bowl and hold your hands over the steam while covering it with a towel. Let the steam loosen the adhesive.
Dental Floss Trick: Lift the nail extension with a toothpick or fingernail, slide dental floss underneath, and gently move it side to side to loosen.
Oil Soak: Dip your nails in warm olive oil/coconut oil to soften nail glue for easier removal of your extensions.
Warm water soak: Indulge your nails in a bowl of warm water with a few drops if dish soap to remove the extensions easily!
