Karwa Chauth Fenia Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup roasted pheni or seviyan (vermicelli)
- 2 cups full-cream milk
- 3 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp ghee3–4 cardamom pods (crushed)
- A few saffron strands (soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk)
- 8–10 almonds (sliced)8–10 pistachios (sliced)
- 1 tbsp raisins
- Silver leaf (varak, optional for garnish)
Method to prepare:
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, add milk and bring to a boil for 10 minutes.
- Add saffron along with crushed cardamom for a fragrant base.
- Let it simmer and keep it aside to cool.
- In a separate pan, heat the ghee and roast fenia for 2 minutes.
- Add roasted fenia to the boiling milk pan and cook it on a low flame.
- Let it boil until it thickens, and add sugar.
- Now, gradually add pistachios, almonds, and raisins.
- Cook for another 3 minutes and turn off the gas.
- Garnish with nuts and saffron for a flavourful treat.
