New Delhi: Saree, an apparel with more than a thousand years of history, not just represents femininity but also displays the legacy of tradition, rituals and artistic expression in the Indian culture. This is amazing to know that there is a plethora of drapes to choose from different Indian states, and one among them is the Nauvari saree. Mostly draped by the Maharashtrian women, this nine-yard piece of cloth has entered the Bollywood long ago. In many Bollywood movies, nauvaris or kashtas or namda vastra have been worn by top actresses.

2. Priyanka Chopra

Portrayal of Kashibai by Priyanka Chopra comes to life in the Bollywood movie Bajirao Mastani. She stuns everyone with her ethnic and royal look in nauvari sarees as the wife of a Peshwa, particularly in a deep purple paithani in nauvari style in the song ‘Pinga’ with a floral motif, shoulder-length blouse.

3. Kriti Sanon

Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai looked mesmerising in a nauvari saree in the 2019 film Panipat. She paired the green paithani with a gorgeous red border that had delicate embellishments of royalty. She finished the royal appearance with the Maharashtrian nath, chandrakor bindi, and green glass bangles.

Rashmika Mandanna is seen in gorgeous paithani sarees in hues of green, maroon, purple, and golden with contrasting borders in the historical saga Chhava this year. She perfectly pulled off Yesubai, the brave consort of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, in all these drapes.
