New Delhi: Akshay Kumar stunned everyone even at the age of 57 as he glided through the runway in style after twelve long years. The audience roared as soon as he posed. The Bollywood superstar, known mainly for action movies rather than for fashion, displayed designer Falguni Shane Peacock’s latest Raj Mahal Bijoux couture collection at the Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 at Taj Palace in New Delhi on July 25. Turning the showstopper for the event, he embraced the royalty of maharajas, as he drew the curtain to the fashion parade with unparalleled grace and charm in traditional Indian attire.
The act of walking the ramp in confidence and grace simply shows that age is just a number for the ‘Khiladi Kumar’. The actor still remembers that almost 12 years ago, he had walked the runaway. Since then, the actor felt, It’s “a long time since I’m doing this walk, ramp walk... And it’s been an honour doing that”, he stated to the media person. Read on to know more about his royal attire.
Any Indian prince would have envied Akshay Kumar as he resembled one while donning an ivory sherwani featuring a bandhgala jacket, adorned with elaborate silk thread embroidery all over. Juttis embroidered with silver embellishments, coupled with black-tinted sunglasses, finished Akshay Kumar’s ethnic attire, boasting nothing but grandeur.
The Kesari actor’s last ramp walk prior to this year was in 2018. He walked for designer Lalit Dalmia at the Tech Fashion Tour Season 4. The event, held at the JW Marriott in Mumbai, celebrated the blend of technology and fashion, incorporating cutting-edge designs and futuristic fabrics.
The Houseful series’ actor looked gorgeous in a long, deep black, structured and velvety overcoat that came with high collars and sharp shoulders, styled with gothic elements in thread work. The coat plunged into an asymmetrical hemline with ruffled layers at the bottom. Coordinated black trousers finished his look.
Prior to this, Akshay Kumar glided the ramp at India Luxury Style Week, Men’s Edition in Mumbai and Bengaluru in 2015.
The Bollywood star’s debut appearance was at Lakme Fashion Week in 2009, where he owned the ramp for Levi’s in a Tarun Tahiliani number.
