New Delhi: Navratri 2025 is here, and people are already excited to welcome Maa Durga with great pomp and show. Started on September 22, 2025, Navratri is a 9-day festival, where each day is dedicated to worshipping a different form of the goddess Durga. Navratri day 2 is devoted to Goddess Brahmacharini, the embodiment of wisdom, patience, penance, and spiritual awakening. On Navratri day 2, many people observe a vrat and prepare simple meals to seek the blessings of Maa Brahmacharini. 1.      ½ cup sama rice

2.      1 litre full cream milk

3.      ½ sugar or jaggery as per taste

4.      4-5 cardamom pods, crushed

5.      1/3 cup dry fruits, roughly chopped

6.      1 tbsp ghee

How to make vrat kheer for Maa Brahmacharini on Navratri day 2

Vrat kheer recipe for Day 2 of Navratri 2025

1.      Firstly, take the sama rice and wash it thoroughly. Let it soak in water for a minimum of 30 minutes.

2.      Take a cooking pan. Pour the ghee, and when heated, add the soaked rice and sauté it for 2 minutes.

3.      Once the rice is nicely roasted, pour in the milk and let the rice and milk cook on a low flame until the rice softens.

4.      Stir occasionally to avoid sticking and allow it to thicken.

5.      After the rice is half-cooked, add the sugar or jaggery along with the crushed cardamom pods. Mix well.

6.      Let it simmer till the rice is cooked.

7.      Garnish with chopped dry fruits.

Your vrat kheer is now ready to offer to Goddess Brahmacharini and enjoy it as a prasad.
