Hartalika Teej is similar to Karwa Chauth as both festivals are dedicated to the bonding of married couples. It is the third and the last of the three Teej festivals that women from different parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan celebrate in the Hindu months of Shravan and Bhadrapada. New Delhi: Hartalika Teej is similar to Karwa Chauth as both festivals are dedicated to the bonding of married couples. It is the third and the last of the three Teej festivals that women from different parts of North Indian states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan celebrate in the Hindu months of Shravan and Bhadrapada. This year, Hartlaika Teej will be observed on August 26, a day ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The other two Teej celebrations are Hariyali Teej and Kajari Teej. Hartalika Teej vrat is observed on the Tritiya Tithi, Shukla Paksha, Bhadrapada (third day during the waxing phase of the Lunar cycle in Bhadrapada month). To make your Hartalika Teej vrat successful, check out the list here.

  • A metal plate for keeping the idols of Lord Shiva and Parvati

  • A fresh piece of white cloth

  • Whole coconut with its husk
