Australian Open 2026 prize money: How much will Elena Rybakina take home after clinching maiden title?

New Delhi: It was a dream come true for Elena Rybakina as she lifted her maiden Australian Open women's singles title after stunning world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the final on Saturday. At the packed Rod Laver Arena, Rybakina kept her calm till the end and finally managed to avenge her 2023 loss to Sabalenka at the Australian Open with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win.

Rybakina clinched the opening set 6-4 but the world number one bounced back in the second claiming it with an identical score-line but the player from Kazakhstan bounced back in the third and deciding set claiming it 6-4 and winning her maiden crown at the season-opening Grand Slam. It was a second major title for Kazakhstan’s Rybakina, who won Wimbledon in 2022 and entered that final four years ago.

The total purse for the Australian Open 2026 prize pool is set at USD 75 million, or AUD 111.5 million. It has a 16 percent hike over 2025 edition's prize pool. The Australian Open 2026 has the second-highest prize purse in Grand Slam history, trailing only the US Open 2025.

The winner of the Australian Open women's singles final Elena Rybakina will take home a staggering cash reward of $2.79 million (AUD 4.15 million), which is an increase of $600,000 from the last edition in 2025. Apart from this, she will also take 2,000 ranking points after Saturday’s triumph.

How much will the others earn?

Meanwhile, the runner-up of Australian Open women's singles Aryna Sabalenka will also get a massive amount of $1.45 million (AUD 2,150,000). In addition, the semifinalists of the women's singles, Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina will both earn $840,000 each for reaching the final four and Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova and Iva Jovic, who were knocked out at the quarterfinal stage, will each take home $500,000.
