Badoni, Arya added in India A squad for T20 WC warm-up games, set to miss Delhis Ranji Trophy match
Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya are set to miss Delhi's final Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai after getting picked in the India A squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup warm-up matches.
New Delhi: Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya will miss Delhi’s last Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai, which will begin on Thursday at the BKC Ground in Mumbai. The duo have been added in India A squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup warm-up matches.
India A will take on the USA at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on February 2, before facing Namibia at the BCCI CoE Ground on February 6 in Bengaluru. Ayush Doseja, who is the highest run-scorer in the Ranji Trophy, will lead the side in the seventh round tournament against Mumbai.
Ashok Sharma, DDCA Secretary, told IANS that Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya will miss Delhi's Ranji Trophy clash against Mumbai, as they have been selected in the India A squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup warm-up matches against the USA and Namibia in Navi Mumbai and Bengaluru.
"Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya will not be playing in tomorrow’s Ranji Trophy clash, as they have been named in the India A squad slated to play Men’s T20 World Cup warm-up games against USA and Namibia in Navi Mumbai and Bengaluru, respectively," Ashok Sharma told IANS.
Badoni has previously played in both four-day and List-A matches for India A and will return to the setup along with Arya, who has featured in the side only for white-ball matches.
Earlier this month, Badoni also received a maiden call-up to the Indian team, replacing an injured all-rounder, Washington Sundar, in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. But didn't get to play a match in the ODI series as the Men in Blue lost 2-1 against the Kiwis for the first time at home.
