New Delhi: The drama surrounding Bangladesh's participation in the T20 World Cup 2026 in India seems to be a never-ending thing. While it looked like all the stakeholders would arrive at a consensus after ICC's final ultimatum to Bangladesh, the BCB has not stopped the efforts of trying to convince the global governing body for venue change.
After ICC arrived at a decision of not changing the venue for the side and insisting them to travel to India for the marquee event next month, the BCB remained firm that they will not travel to the Indian subcontinent citing security issues. The ICC's statement further establishes the fact that Bangladesh would be replaced by Scotland if they continue to disagree.
On Friday, Bangladesh pushed their case further by again writing to the world cricket body on the matter and seeking an intervention from the ICC's independent Dispute Resolution Committee. This development happened after BCB on Thursday stood firm on their decision of not travelling to India for the showpiece event and communicated the same to the media personnel's after ICC had given them a final 24-hour ultimatum.
