New Delhi: Shubman Gill wasn't willing to back down even after helping India win against Pakistan in Asia Cup's Super 4s stage.

Gill scored 47 runs off 28 balls in a 105-run opening stand with Abhishek Sharma (74 off 39) as India chased down a 172-run target in 18.5 overs to win by six wickets.

Through their partnership, Gill and Sharma were involved in altercations with Pakistan bowlers, who tried to provocate the Indian batters into false strokes.

But Pakistan's ploy fell flat not only on the pitch but also off it as both Sharma and Gill put up with their aggressive stance on social media, after the match.

"Game speaks, not words,” Gill wrote while Sharma said, "You talk, we win".

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Sharma also spoke on Pakistan's aggression firing them up to give a fitting reply.

"Today it was very simple, the way they (Pakistan players) were coming at us for no reason, I didn't like it at all and this is the only way (his aggressive batting) I could give medicine to them," Sharma said.

Aircraft gesture

During Pakistan's innings, Sahibzada Farhan celebrated his half century with his bat pointed like a gun, an 'AK-47' gesture that quickly became a talking point.

Later during India's innings, pacer Haris Rauf responded to jeers from spectators by making a fighter aircraft gesture and lifted his fingers to indicate '0-6', in reference the Pakistan government's yet unsubstantiated claims of downing Indian fighter jets in May this year during Operation Sindoor.
